BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME!

January was a month filled with the warmth of friends and family! We had visitors from Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, New York and Dallas. We rented a large van and we toured the countryside and experienced the sights and sounds of El Salvador. As an added treat, the Volcan of Santa Ana was spewing ash...so we were able to admire the majesty and the power of volcanoes. At night, it seemed like we were always having a giant slumber party!!

January is the beginning of coffee picking season and we have started just that at "Cielo y Tierra." Due to the length and intensity of the rainy season (including Hurricane Stan), this year's crop will not be as plentiful as last years'. But, we are busy picking, shelling and drying the coffee. The coffee casing (the pulp that surrounds the coffee) we use as compost. As you can see, I have become the Martha Stewart of El Salvador!!
